Fraxel is a versatile laser treatment for skin. The word "fraxel" is derived from "fractional". This has a special meaning: this means that whenever you have a fraxel treatment of the skin, only a "fraction" of the skin is treated, about 20-25%. So, it takes several sessions to add up to 100% of the skin surface being treated. Since only a fraction of the skin is treated at a time, healing time is brief, and there usually isn't prolonged downtime. Fraxel is useful for treating the following conditions:
